The “rich because” trend on TikTok redefines what it means to be wealthy, shifting the focus away from money to personal moments of joy and gratitude. People are sharing what truly enriches their lives, from relationships with family, friends, and pets to creative hobbies, morning coffee, and simple moments of calm and contentment.
This season of gratitude, try journaling your own version.
If you’re a visual journaler, make a spread with photos and images of things that make you feel rich, and add the words “rich because” across the page. Try finding “ransom note” style letters for the text in junk mail and magazines.
If you’re a writer, expand on the idea: write about a loved one, describe a memory that fills you up, reflect on a place that brings calm or joy, or explore what fulfillment feels like when you’re doing something you love.
